What It Costs to Run Guno

Guno is not a business. There are no ads, no tracking, no investors, and no monetization scheme. It is just a search engine I built because I wanted it to exist.

That said, it does cost real money to keep running:

Hosting (currently shared, will need upgrade) $8/month

Domain registration (.cc TLD) ~$3/month

Cloudflare security & DDoS protection ~$8/month

Development tools & debugging services ~$25/month

Email delivery (submission notifications, reports) ~$5/month

Time maintaining, moderating, improving Evenings & weekends

Estimated monthly cost $49 + time

As the index grows, hosting will need to be upgraded. I am okay with covering these costs myself - I built Guno because I wanted it to exist, not to make money from it. But if you find Guno useful and want to chip in, I genuinely appreciate it.

Note: Donations are not required to use Guno and never will be. This is a passion project, not a business. If you cannot donate or would rather not, that is completely fine - just keep using the site and telling people about it. That helps too.
